Virtual Make-up Testing Now Available Online
In Rossmann's online shop, users can now test colour cosmetics products on their own moving image. The products in focus are from the brands L'Oréal Paris and Maybelline New York. According to the German drug store chain Rossmann, this virtual service is provided by the L'Oréal Group, to which both brands belong. The cosmetics company acquired the Canadian start-up Modiface in 2018, which is developing the necessary technology.
Virtual Beauty Services in Demand
"More and more customers are looking for information about products online before buying," says Petra Czora, Marketing Director at Rossmann. 50 per cent of them are not sure which colour of lipstick matches their complexion, the company says. Technologies such as Augmented Reality Services are therefore in great demand in the beauty industry right now. According to Rossmann, Modiface allows users to digitally try out various new products and discover new looks for themselves at any time and from anywhere.
Any Time Anywhere
The service is available through a portal on the web and allows users to test products such as lipsticks or eye shadows live via the camera on their phone or computer. Users can also try make-up looks out on various preset models.
