German Sustainability Award: Nominations in the cosmetics industry
Cosmetics industry in transition to sustainable solutions
The nominees of the 17th German Sustainability Award in the cosmetics industry have been determined. A jury selected a total of seven companies that stand out for their sustainable approaches. The nominees include, for example, Börlind, i+m Naturkosmetik and Laverana.
The companies develop natural, environmentally friendly formulas, pay attention to the promotion of local biodiversity and fair wages when growing and sourcing raw materials, improve the eco-balance of soaps and shampoos – and solve packaging problems with new dosage forms such as bars or solids. In addition to the health compatibility of their products, sustainability and climate protection concerns are becoming increasingly important to consumers.
Diverse approaches for a green future
With their innovative approaches, the nominated companies show what sustainable cosmetics production can look like. Here is an overview of the nominees in the Cosmetics category:
Börlind focuses on certified natural cosmetics, environmentally friendly and resource-conserving production and fair supply chains. boerlind.com
COSANEA offers dental care products with biodegradable packaging and natural ingredients that are free from microplastics and harmful chemicals. cosanea.de
Duschbrocken develops sustainable and plastic-free shower products. They only use natural ingredients and packaging made from recycled materials. duschbrocken.de
Einhorn scores with sustainable period and condom products as well as social commitment. einhorn.my
i+m Naturkosmetik promotes fair trade and vegan cosmetics. All products are certified according to the natural cosmetics standard COSMOS, Cruelty Free International and Vegan Society. iplusm.berlin
Laverana focuses on the highest (organic) quality, local origin wherever possible and a high proportion of recycled and recyclable packaging material for their natural cosmetics. lavera.de
The start-up Organic Label impresses with an innovative, water-free body care product that is fully compostable and vegan.
The award will be presented on 28 November 2024 at the MARITIM Hotel Düsseldorf and honours the pioneers of sustainable transformation in the cosmetics industry.
